More About Me

An idea worth spreading

I have a fascination about a musical instrument. It's very minimalism, almost a table surface with nothing on but it can play all sort of sounds, like a mix of turntables, beat maker and creates other instrument sounds. One controls it by making hand movements in the air zone that the device bottoms.

Talk to me about

I like obscure, underground music. I like to know about music in general and the story behind. Enlighten my knowledge, if you may.

People don't know that I'm good at

A reply on Talk: Jamie Oliver's TED Prize wish: Teach every child about food

Feb 12 2010: Alarmist or not. That doesn't matter. What matters is we have a disease. It's killing people. And it is spreading globally because of cultural exchange and corporate's ambition to expand their markets. Your questions make sense. However, they won't change the fact that people are being affected by obesity. As an activist, Jamie has successfully delivered a persuasive combination of facts, figures and real life examples that made people like me woke up from an unknowing truth.

Feb 12 2010: Also, the fact that his talk is so easy to follow makes it one of the best.

Feb 12 2010: I agree. He is not an academic. But his presentation is so well written. His facts, figures, and real life people examples are so carefully selected. Together, they create a great mix that highlight his message.

Feb 12 2010: I feel that his anger translates to more impact to me, and maybe other audience as well. His slamming facts over my face was what I found his presentation profoundly persuasive. On an underlying note, Jamie said about his wish for an opportunity to approach bigger audience (the magic wand part, if i remember correctly). This was his opportunity, it's that big chance, so getting emotional is understandable. But again, his getting emotional is what creates most impact for me and others. There sure are greater speakers who can be emotional and calm at the same time. But it's just Jamie. Simple, passionate and inspiring.

Feb 11 2010: Truly, truly inspirational. I was on the edge of my chair every time the webcast was interrupted.
