Sarinee Achavanuntakul is a writer, translator, and banker-turned-academic who regularly publicizes new developments in social enterpreneurship and sustainable development via her personal blog at http://www.fringer.org/ and various publications. She is also the editor of Open Online (www.onopen.com), a web magazine in Thai, and teaches an undergraduate course called "Business and Society" every year as adjunct professor at Thammasat University's Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy. She has written and translated over 30 books, including the Thai translation of Muhammad Yunus' Banker to the Poor. In late 2008, Sarinee co-founded Thai Netizen Network (http://www.thainetizen.org/) with fellow citizen journalists to campaign about Internet freedom in Thailand. In addition to teaching and writing, Sarinee is currently conducting research on village banking schemes in Thailand. She holds an MBA in finance from Leonard Stern School of Business, New York University, and a BA in economics from Harvard University.
