A reply on Talk: Chris Anderson: How web video powers global innovation
Chris, not only TED speakers rehearse their talk, some of the YouTube artists are as well. Thanks to community rating they really shine (and there are so many examples of them).
This implies a change in your role in TED, Chris. Because in this context people do not need an editor anymore (someone to compose a conference agenda for them). The crowd determines what's interesting/inspiring etc.
On a personal note, I watch TED talks much because I know that the TED team hand picked each of them. Losing editor's function might results in puppies and porn. The role of the editor should be re-invented. An editor should be perceived as an artist. A good is really is.
