Founder and partner of Wach’alal Advertising Agency in Guatemala. During those years, we became one of the top ten in billings and were always on the top three creatively. We were partners with the Euro/RSCG Agency from 1997 to 1998 and then with the TBWA/Chiat/Day Agency from 1999 to today.

• Telgua (the phone company in Guatemala, during the privatization process)
• Telefonica (the Spanish phone company, which entered the market)

Awards:
The agency has won numerous local Creativity Awards (Jade, Premios XXI) and 2 Clio short lists (one in promotional material and one TV)

1991-1993
Leo Burnett/Comunica (Guatemala)
My return to Leo Burnett was first to be in charge of the new digital equipment. Part Art Director and Part IT.
After a few months I was transfered to the Creative Department where I was responsible of a few accounts, mostly local.

1988-1991

The first year was as a small design studio with our own clients, including Boehringer Mannheim laboratories and the German Chamber of Commerce Office in Guatemala.
The second year, Leo Burnett became our main client, where we prepared all the camera ready artwork of all their print production –newspaper and magazine ads, brochures, packaging, etc.

Leo Burnett/Comunica (Guatemala)
Art Director for many of Burnett’s clients, local and international, including McDonald’s, Kellogg’s, Procter & Gamble and Philip Morris.

(This was way before the Mac. Very good typesetting learning experience.)

Member of the organizing committee of “Re:diseño 01”, a series of design conferences in Guatemala with the participation of local and international designers.
Finalist in the Summit of the Americas Logo Design Competition in 1994 in Miami.

The flaw on this ad is that a windows phone doesn't solve the problem... unless it's a piece of crap that you don't want to use... so maybe, the ad is really ok...
