I studied political science (BA) and philosophy (MA). Now I'm pursuing a PhD in economics.

Since 2003 I've been working as independent consultant on institutional design and strategy analysis, planning and evaluation (after having served for some years as policy advisor in Colombia).

I love teaching: since 1994, I have lectured in political science and economics at Los Andes, Javeriana and Witten/Herdecke universities.

I landed on TED during one of my web-research sprees on the concept of "design" - trying to make sense of the idea of institutional design, and trying to figure out ways to improve social institutions by adapting ideas from the design communities. I was immediately and definetly hooked on TED...
