  A comment on Conversation: How do you feel about the responsibility of the government towards the young people (18-25) regarding the economic and financial crisis?

  Oct 26 2011: Well I dont think that we need saving. most of us live in countries with stable economy. yes there is a crisis, but there is no war, revolution or any other incident that would totally change the political or economical environment. you just have to take the crisis into account when planning your future. we have access to education and information. access to cash is harder then it used to be but that way less risky investments are being made. I dont want the government to think to much how to help me. I just want it not to get in my way. And the most of all I dont want the government to spend any money on me, because that means sooner or later I will have to repay it in form of many different taxes.

  Aug 31 2011: I like to take action when I see how I can improve something - a material thing or a process. So when to think of it what drives me is my laziness that motivates me to find most efficient ways to get things done ;)

  Aug 25 2011: I think you see a problem where there isn't one. Everyone can check the gender they feel comfortable with not necessary what is written in the documents.
  My guess is TED uses this info for statistics and it facilitates contact with the users.
  
  sorry but it seems to me as such a first-world-problem.

  Aug 25 2011: I won't say it is impossible. I think the progress of human knowledge in the last century proves that nothing is impossible. But I wonder it that would be a good thing? The beauty of the childhood lies partly in the lack of awareness. And even if we would construct a child preloaded with human knowledge it would still be born mentally developed as a newborn. I don't think its a good combination.

  Aug 25 2011: oh, I thing we are long past that. we are playing god everyday. To begin with CPR - we are resurrecting people. Or maybe you mean that we shouldn't decide who gets to live? well thats basically what the insurance companies are for...

  Aug 25 2011: but at what cost? and I don't mean monetary cost, but think of terminally ill patients who are suffering? should we do everything in our power to keep them alive, knowing this won't bring them back to health and only causes more suffering?
