I love design, interactivity, technology and art; I try, as much as I can, to work on projects that are in-between disciplines to establish interesting dialogues with other people and exchange knowledge and passions with them.
Currently, I am a research assistant at the MIT Media Lab at the Fluid Interfaces Group where I am pursuing a PhD focusing on the design of alternative types of display technologies. My work consists on identifying limitations of current display technologies and conceptualizing, designing and building new display technology that addresses them. These designs are not intended to be substitutive of current display technologies; instead, they seeks to expand the palette of display technologies for visualizing content in different ways.
All objects around us are designed they have special features that makes them unique. When it comes to screens, however, they all look the same flat, rectangular and static. Designing displays to adapt better to their content could impact the way we perceive and understand information.
