How many of those people you refer to have to hunt and gather their raw foods? Supermarkets hadn't been invented when humans learned to eat meat and cook food. Humans evolved long legs for running, not fat bums for sitting around watching TV. Think again about your conclusion. Suzana's conclusion sounds very plausible to me, though I think humans would firstly have gained a huge energy advantage from being omnivorous before we learned to use fire.
