A reply on Talk: Helen Fisher: Why we love, why we cheat

Jun 5 2009: I think you are missing the point Mr. Heimiller; obviously for some women being a homemaker is a very rewarding and fulfilling path, but I believe Dr. Fisher's point is that now women have the CHOICE to be a career woman or a homemaker. For the very first time in a long time women have achieved equality in the western world; sadly this is not the norm for the rest of the world (there are places where women are still treated like mules). Only by achieving economic equality women will stop being treated as second class citizens and being a politic minority (less than 15% of the world leaders are female).
It is also remarkable to see that you place the burden of social cohesion on the female sex when in my humble opinion is a responsibility that we all share.
  • A comment on Talk: Dan Dennett: Dangerous memes

Apr 9 2009: I think he was not talking about ideas themselves, but he is likening religion to parasitic memes that do not bring anything good to the human gene pool. Very sharp, poignant and not politically correct. I find that his approach may be a little acerbic, but then again people do not like it when someone is extremely critical of religion.
