An idea worth spreading

I have an idea regarding blogging. This idea involves using social media to blog. This is for kids of teen age who misuse their time using Facebook or Twitter or such social medias. My idea is to inspire these kids by examples and incentives to help them express themselves so they can be confident enough to express their voices anywhere. This will help them become bolder and reach out to society if there is any injustice done to them.

I'm passionate about

Poetry and Debating are my hobbies. I am inclined towards Physics and Mathematics. Psychology interests me as well. But my passion would be to research alternative energy sources.

Talk to me about

Poetry, Debating, Physics, Mathematics, Psychology, Travelling. Any fun thing to do.

People don't know I'm good at

Acting. I am a good actor as my mom tells me.

My TED story

I talked about a TED video with a group of people in a party once. That day I found three of my best friends. That is my TED story.

Is Knowledge a Curse?
In my view, people tend to forget the difference between knowledge and wisdom. I am quoting the internet here (forgive me for that) "Knowledge is knowing Tomato is a fruit, wisdom is not using it on a fruit salad." Those who are disdained for using knowledge or cursed to be "too-knoweldgeable" are those who lack wisdom. It suffices to say that Knwoledge is not a curse but lack of wisdom is. But there are some situation where one burdens himself for knowing a horrific secret about a loved one but even then, if the person is wise then he can be wise enought to handle the situation. That is my take on knowledge. A wise person knwos that in the hands of a common man, a iridium knife would just be a knife but to a scientist, it would a very high value. Thus, it depends upon the teacher, scientist to impart knowledge upon others if they feel that knowledge is useful.

What is more important: inspiration or motivation?
Joshua: I keep asking these questions whenever someone lectures me in a conference or in a meeting about these things. I would rather be doing laundry than listen to these words which make little sense. Perspiration for me was and always will be the most important but I just wanted an opinion because the masses believe that success is achieved mostly when these factors come into play.

What is more important: inspiration or motivation?
Reading all the answers here. I got this conclusion. Motivation can be extrinsic or intrinsic but wherever it may originate, it will need perspiration to quantify into success. Motivation and Inspiration can and will be only temporary. Persistence however will be the most important factor if we were to define any activity. But if we were to talk about idea alone, motivation would be the most important because it promotes perspiration on a deeper level compared to inspiration. This is what I got. Thank You everyone for your answers. I hope I will try to understand it even further.

What defines music? Is today's pop music really music?
Let us compare music to writing shall we. Writing when it started was the culmination of the language. Few people had command over the spoken and written language. Writers cam along the time when no one around expressed themselves in a written form clearly. The cost of paper, ink and the luxury of writing was only available to a few. Then times changed, the luxury became a necessity and writing became common. Paper production increased and there were modern typewriters, pen which promoted writing even more. Thus, writers were increased in number. After we entered the digital age, it increased even further. Anyone can afford to wrote now and the blogs, articles are considered writing in the modern times. Similar process followed with music. Instruments and stages cost a lot in the olden days. Recording an album or singing a song and making a video was luxury. But time decreased the cost of it all. Everybody could afford it in the 80's and the 90's. Guitars had lower cost, amplifiers were common. Recording was easy and rock and roll was at it's peak. Now, every Macintosh computer is a studio itself. Every hand held cell phone is video camera. This has reduced the cost of production and increased the quantity of music. The type of instruments and music has differed as well (as it differed in mediums in writing). Thus, the music right now can be considered as music. I see the debate not as Old VS New but as a debate of quantity vs Quality.
