Mariana Mazzucato: Government -- investor, risk-taker, innovator
One of the most convoluted and disjointed talks on TED in some time, straight out of the mouth of an academic with no skin in the game. I think I understood what she was getting at and thank you for your point of view but the difference in mind set between the entrepreneur and the government worker, regardless of his or her status, is the separating factor. One may be out on the street homeless if his idea doesn't work out the while the other can say oh well and try again, on the public's nickel.

Syria: What is the core principle?
Legan. Don't you remember the hoax about the existence of those weapons in Iraq? Was it a hoax that Sadam gassed thousands of Kurds? Was it a hoax by the UN when they stated that the trail of these weapons of mass destruction, as they are now regarded, lead more than once to the Syrian border? A simple goggle search I did a couple of years ago revealed that information.

What is my obligation to society and the world?
To a very high degree you already have completed your obligation to the world, you just don't know it, you have looked after yourself. Think what a nice world it would be if everyone did the same. Enjoy the rest of your life and what you have worked for, you can't pass along the gene of self sufficiency.

Is socialism the best option for Latin American countries?
Socialism has not and will not work because of one underlying trait in the human spirit, survival. Socialists seem to have had this trait bread out of their DNA and will accept anyone that would help them without any effort on their part. They learn to late that working for a common cause simply means toiling for one master or another and receiving a fraction of the reward for your efforts. For the most part socialists are life's losers, blaming all their deficiencies on someone else and for the most part those that do acquire wealth usually do so through inheritance not hard work and common sense. Have you ever wondered why so many of them work for the government? From one teat to another for an existence, certainly not a life.
