An idea worth spreading
Education is a social issue. If you have problems with your education system, you need to look to your society for the underlying issues. There are two big ways the ship can right itself. Put all your support and emphasis into education letting education lead the way to fixing the society around it. This involves putting tremendous support both financial and social into education then getting out of the way. The 2nd is gradually change societies views on education and allow it to naturally fix the problems over time as support for education grows.
Right now education, specifically in the United States, is socially unappreciated. The institution as a whole along with the profession gets very little respect, for many reasons. Furthermore and I think maybe more important though is the disturbing mentality that people in the U.S. have towards education and learning. These are things that need to be changed to promote change for the better in the U.S.
