Max Wong Posted about 2 years ago Are we making ourselves redundant? Whether we are making ourselves redundant, I don't know if that's the question we should be asking. We're not going to start backtracking on the current progress that we have made in technology and create more jobs by doing things less efficiently (assuming that the technology we are referring to is making as more efficient). We need to determine how we can best situate individuals so t hat their abilities match up with the required needs of the jobs that are being created by technology. If this means that less manual labour jobs are are around as a result, whether that is a tragedy or not is irrelevant...it's a reality. How to solve our reality? I don't know, and I don't think anybody has a concrete solution, but somehow the world keeps turning and people find a way to survive by adapting to the current situation.
