People don't know that I'm good at

seeing beauty and meaning in almost anything, any experience.

    Oct 22 2009: I agree with the view that by being appreciative you can get more out of life/material stuff ('intangible value'). Appreciate, and be mindful.

    On the other hand, I just can't quite accept the idea of having somebody (e.g. advertisers)
    i. directing us, or deciding for us, the specific intangible value we get from something;
    ii. deciding the price/premium of that intangible value for us.

    Such appreciation should be an open process of individual creation.

    Put it another way, is it possible for consumers to exercise 'price discrimination' whereby they decide how much premium they pay for the intangible value induced by advertisers?

    To some people the advertiser-created 'intangible value' may worth a lot while for others it may worth little, zero, or even negative...
