I'm an Iranian Ph.D. student in Strategy at the Schulich School of Business, York University. I have an MS in Entrepreneurship and BS in Applied Mathematics, both from the University of Tehran.
An idea worth spreading
I think we should devote an area of study to the design of countries. Most of man's design efforts and academic disciplines are limited to systems at the sub-country level. This is while we recognize that many of the problems we're having trouble with are due to a lack of integration at higher levels. A problem in health care is linked to a problem in the economy. A problem in security is linked to a problem of education, etc. So I think we should allocate more thought power to designing and engineering entire countries and even systems of countries.
I'm passionate about
Value creating business, Healthy world economy, Revolutionary science and technology
My TED story
I have been a fan of TED ever since I discovered it in 2007. Since high speed internet was hard to come by in Iran, I had trouble downloading and watching TED Talks at first, but when I succeeded I was hooked on to them and still am. I just wish more people would watch them, specially in the developing world. I maintain a weblog that discusses TED Talks and other great online sources of knowledge in Persian (Farsi) for the Farsi-speaking world: http://ayandeyebashar.wordpress.com/
