Adam Spencer: Why I fell in love with monster prime numbers
The talk was on the subject of a fascination of large large prime numbers and is the reason I chose to view it after skipping over several other unwatched TED titles lying in my inbox. One of the nice things about these talks are the commentaries. They often give additional insights and extend the experience of an already interesting topic; Interesting by virtue of being chosen by the viewer. Adam Spencer appears to be a radio personality, and I would offer that he might not be the best choice for a talk on the math profession. I thoroughly enjoyed his delivery and my overall experience was on par or better with my expectation of it. As a real estate professional, I would have been quite unsatisfied had he delivered a talk more along the lines of what you suggest. Ok? I'm off to check out some commentary that actually pertains to the talk. Sorry but yours doesn't. Regretfully this one doesn't either.

Steven Cowley: Fusion is energy's future
Why not dump ALL resources into developing more technology to harness energy from the one giant fusion reactor already given to us? The Sun! It is already doing it for us! The Sun has been giving off massive amounts of energy, 24/7, since before the dawn of this solar system. It continually gives off every kind of energy we know of and radiating it in infinite directions. Our Sun has been feeding life giving, life changing and life taking forms of energy freely to an area of space roughly 10 billion light years in diameter in all directions and will do so for as long as we need. Here on earth, this energy is abundant in raw radiated sunlight, stored geothermal energy as Mr. Anderson commented previously and wind energy in our atmosphere. I understand that we are already doing this, but why do anything else is my question. It seems so obvious. Why are we still thumbing our nose at this huge gift?

Keith Chen: Could your language affect your ability to save money?
Could language be a non-physical or elemental being? Does it not exist and evolve, thrive, adapt or die. Is language a thought based creation paralleling evolution from the earliest sounds of creation to the highly complex transfers of the existential memory of experience from one consciousness to another or to many others? Now, from being to machine or vise versa? As English of today seems to mirror the melting pot of human consciousness or global awareness, that consciousness is continually refining and adapting the idiom to become an absolute mental extension of the humans who speak it. Sounded words becoming the evolved physical manifestations of our thoughts.
