Ben Goldacre: What doctors don't know about the drugs they prescribe
That is true. I take that back on the one semester. The one semester is the actual coruse called pharmacology. I do agree that you study medications for each system in M2 year. and your rotations. The main thing a physician is not concerned about is drug chemistry and how it affects physiology. that is when the pharmacist comes into play.

Ben Goldacre: What doctors don't know about the drugs they prescribe
Well, as a pharmacist student, this is very concerning. May I share some info? Doctors only have one semester on pharmacology. they do learn about medications a little bit in other subjects but just on which drug treats this disease. in residency they are focused on particular medications for their field. but the knowledge usually relies which drug treats this disease. I amnot here to bash doctors or trying to be smuck. But a pharmacist is trained in drug science.

Public Response to GMOs
To me GMO foods is pretty sketchy, why not label GMO foods? I mean the FDA says they are safe, why not label them. so it tells you it is something these people are not telling us.

Geoffrey Canada: Our failing schools. Enough is enough!
and on top of that. the Big Business's are only ones that can change or innovate something that works if they cared about what they stand for rather than making profits. Though there are some Big businesses that do care about what they stand for. For example, Starbucks, Google, and Apple to name a few.

the method of teaching in American schools is counterproductive. they start with what, how, but leave the student to figure out why. a plan that is a failure for actually helping students. Teachers take a complicated subject and make it even more complicated to feel important. or a simple subject and make it even more complicated. teachers, principle , and schoolboard are minor problems. the problems stems from Big business. For example, College Board, the makers of the AP program and Standardized tests, are running this education system. I am strictly opposed to the AP program. the whole program is geared to passing a test. Know these facts take practice tests and get a good score. in a standardized test all one needs to know is what that something is. all the questions in standardized tests are what type or how type of questions. a AP program kills creativity because students do not know why they are taught something. And Teachers have no room to inspire students because their purpose is too teach these facts to students to pass a test and as a benefit get profit from it regardless of whether a student succeeds or not. the AP program is an example of a failed education system. the sole purpose of college board in that program is to get profits and College Board sees Students and Teachers as commodities. it is pretty much run like factor system. Also, if the student does not understand something. tough luck.

I believe that education in this country follows Social Darwinsim: only the strongest survive. it has become cut throat system starting with Big business to professors/ teachers to students. people should have access to learning. no one should be denied a quality education. I don't know a lot about how the elementary schools and the middle schools operate. But, I believe one should change the education plan in high schools. Learning is crucial for a student in high school in order to prepare for the transition to college. There is a plan that a teacher should go buy when he or she is discussing a subject. a plan which can be used in any aspect of life. How to teach students efficiently and creating students for leaders for tomorrow : 1. Start with why something happens what is the purpose of that something. Understanding why something happens is hardest and crucial to learning. teaching why something happens not only instills creativity but makes learning more easier. the purpose of a teacher is to a take complicated subject and define it into simple terms. This platform will work for any science or math course. english is a bit more abstract as far as teaching and it is not methodical. 2. start with How that something happens 3. end with what that something is. the problem with the teaching is teachers do the opposite. and they leave students in the dust to figure out why that something happens. the teaching method of why, how, and what worked in the greek/ roman days, when students enjoyed learning and teachers were inspiring. American education system does the exact opposite
