If you have NEVER been to Africa, when someone mentions "Africa" or you hear "Africa", what is the FIRST thing that comes into your mind?
Look forward to hearing from you. I'd like to introduce you sometime to three of my colleagues as well; Karen and her father come from Zimbabwe, and her husband, Derek, is - like me - from England but spent many years in South Africa. He is a friend of Bishop Desmond Tutu and is very 'Afro-friendly". I think that your mission to spread peace and harmony is much in line of coaxing people, especially seniors, to talk to each other about things that matter. Derek has a current LinkedIn account which I 'll give you details of sometime - that will give you an opportunity to check our bona fides. Charles.

Mary: You obviously have a talent for getting people's attention! The group of seniors I mentioned, "Seniors On Net", has the mission of encouraging seniors to forget their age and aches, and use their experience to raise, and discuss, matters of importance to the world. This is a small movement at present but growing - we have links in NY, California, Florida and N.Carolina. We use Skype for weekly discussions, and Africa and its potential is one of our favorite topics. We love the TED Talks concept. If you use Skype, and would like to hear more, send me a contact request at skyport99. Charles

Mary: you pose a most interesting question. A group of us (seniors just outside Baltimore) were discussing that very question on Skype this evening. Our conclusion was that we have more to learn from Africa than we can teach, if we get our priorities right. This video shows a community of muslims, jews and christians living and working in harmony and peace in Uganda: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifQ4VaM6wcs Regards, Charles
