    A comment on Talk: Beau Lotto + Amy O’Toole: Science is for everyone, kids included

    Oct 22 2012: if these kids can do it, I can do it!
  • A comment on Talk: Lisa Kristine: Photos that bear witness to modern slavery

    Aug 13 2012: a very emotion inducing talk that can bring one to tears. She is quite a hero.

    but what can we do to help except donating money to free the slaves?

    A comment on Talk: Max Little: A test for Parkinson’s with a phone call

    Aug 7 2012: Interesting take on the subject. But I wonder what happens if you call in an altered state: stressed out, sleep deprived, angry, sad, scared, cry'ish. We all know that when a person is cryish (wants to cry), his (her) voice is trembling.

    By the way, amazing job, i loved the talk.
  • A comment on Talk: Noah Wilson-Rich: Every city needs healthy honey bees

    Aug 1 2012: Is it correct to assume that in cities we would get a lower quality honey? (cities are more toxic >gets absorbed by flowers > to bees > to honey)

    A comment on Talk: E.O. Wilson: Advice to young scientists

    Jun 25 2012: a very inspirational and relevant talk in todays rapidly changing world. I don't know him, but even after a 15 min talk I already see him as a mentor and inspiration.

    A comment on Talk: Sarah Parcak: Archeology from space

    Jun 14 2012: I thought that the "from space" meant the origin of the archeology, and not the viewpoint.

    So, cheerfully, and without hesitation, I was exited to see archeological findings in different planets, but was let down a bit.
  • A comment on Talk: Yoav Medan: Ultrasound surgery -- healing without cuts

    Dec 8 2011: Sounds amazing! think about the implications. What if in the future there will be no knifes, no incisions, no scars. Sounds too good to be true :)

    but is there really no side effects of ultrasound? The organs that the waves have to pass though to get to the desired point have to be affected somehow.

    i made a little search (did not study this topic deeply) and found that the negative effects might be:
    * Lower birth weights
    * Delayed speech development
    * Subtle changes in brain chemistry
    * False positive diagnosis of brain defects

    Do any of you know more about this?
  • A comment on Talk: Matt Cutts: Try something new for 30 days

    Jul 1 2011: i think about planting a forest in 30 days, but I guess that planting it is not enough. Or is it? I will figure it out when the time comes

    A comment on Talk: Rajesh Rao: A Rosetta Stone for the Indus script

    Jun 30 2011: Thank you TED. Talks like these charge up my curiosity very high. When I watch some of the most interesting talks I think that I sometimes learn more interesting stuff on TED, than I learn in my university.

    One moment I felt like I was back in school, but then thought that the word "school" isn't really an English word because of the strange "sch" symbol in the front that is more common in the German language and so my chain of thought went on... :) (love, when talks like these inspire new thought patterns)
