Are we on the brink of creating a human-like digital mind?
i believe there should be a cap on the whole process!?.. look what is happening around the world, for the race of new tech. you got hin a hacking in our chinese made computers... you have armenians and other middle eastern people learing to defraud our socials and what not!?.. the race for the best tech is gonna lead to terminator story turning into reality!?.. who says that one day the government will have a real super computer thats just like the one in "eagle eye"... machines will always be machines, but they sure as hell dont go through emotions!?.. as humans, machines are also prone to make a mistakes!.. id rather work to fix a human error vs. dealing with a computer system that has to be diagnosed to find and then fix what could already be a catastrophic error!?

If you have NEVER been to Africa, when someone mentions "Africa" or you hear "Africa", what is the FIRST thing that comes into your mind?
community!.. i am a real american boi, who lives a very nomadic life; as im typing this from an airport in north carolina, i refuse to confide in the media!?!.. i barely even watch t.v. its gotton to be so disturbing!?... but anywho, im glad u posted this topic mary, because i definitly belive that the mainstrea media plays a crucial role in todays perception on the most spiritual people as well, richest land in the whole world! my question to you mary is, you being an african native, do you feel that there can be a mended bond between wealthy africans and african americans to create a black ienterprise , so we can show the world that not everything has to be bombs & scandals!??

If you have NEVER been to Africa, when someone mentions "Africa" or you hear "Africa", what is the FIRST thing that comes into your mind?
as an ambitious african american brutha from los angeles id always not only hoped to go to the motherland, but also find ways to reconnect with my african bruthas. as far as the media playing a role in how people perceive the identity of africa, i cant ignore the energy that "THE MAN WITH THE PLAN" create there own generic Picasso masterpiece by exploiting certain countries in africa. like you said mary, curruption is EVERYWHERE.. but when i think about it, i can only remmber king shaka, hotel rawanda, and many more things that people take for granted, such as the fact that there are very intellegent people who live in poverty. not to long ago i was watching this documentary about a boy from sierra leon that made his own radio transmitter with scrap. that action alone created a positive vibe thru out his whole village!. he was so smart that M.I.T, flew him out to give him an oppertunity to work with the "american elite" .. that was AWSOME!!.. as a rebel baby, i refuse to even think of the motherland as troubled. it history has crystallized it character. when i see such movies as "IN MY COUNTRY" (WITH SAM JACKSON) i learn of such spiritual movements as that. when i dream of africa i dont think of morroco, or tourist attractions. i think of people who live in areas where they are being oppressed just as the african american ive grown up around in south l.a. i belive its been the same systemused on our kind for generations to keep us from blossuming the way we could. malcom x knew it could be done, he tryed, they killed him. we tryed to create a black enterprise with quiency jones and the doode whoran soultrain. they came in and sucked us out. we had a renniacance in harlem, they systematicly broke that down. just like in africa the oppressed add more pain to an already going issue, such as selling drugs to our already broken black community. i kant wait till i can actually go to africa, as malcom x to reach out with those alike and wish for a more bonded black
