Mar 13 2013: Not talking about the "employees" - I'm talking about the top percentage of administrators. Like the banksters, it's not the majority of employees or bankers that are the problem - it's a small percentage at the top. Like public employees, it's not the person answering phones at City Hall or at the School Districts - it's the ridiculous decamillion compensation packages that they get at the top levels that are ridiculous. People give to charities because they think they are giving to help "cure" or "solve a problem" - not make some a multi-millionaire. The public school district my son goes to currently $2 million every year for two former superintendents & the district can afford to buy toilet paper for the restrooms. This is okay with you? FYI - the Goodwill number is correct. Do better research.

Mar 13 2013: CEO of Autism Speaks - $750,000 base salary only (not including perks)
CEO of Unicef - $1, 200.000 base salary (not including perks)
CEO of American Red Cross - $700,000 base salary (not including perks which includes 8 weeks of paid vacation/yr)
CEO of Goodwill - $2.5 million min
Top 25 Medical Charities - CEO base salary runs from $700K to $2million

That's about 3 times what was put out in this lecture. When U add in TOTAL COMPENSATION - it's usually about double their "base salary"

Mar 13 2013: This lecture really is VERY WRONG. Most major non-profits are simply Co-ops that split the profits among the top administrators through salary, expense accounts, travel, retirement etc. People don't donate money to non-profits to pad top administrators salaries. The other problem is that most non-profits view "solving" whatever problem they are having as being a threat to their financial well-being & profit making. What we need is to get rid of most NATIONAL non-profits & push the help to local level. Most people are trying to help & trying to do good by GIVING money to non-profits. WE have the MOST GENEROUS society in the world when it comes to charitable giving. Unfortunately, most of it stolen by top administrators of the non-profits.
