Allan Savory: How to fight desertification and reverse climate change
someone expressed concern for the wild animals that do rightfully belong on this land, feeling that these methods would exclude them. from what i hear of this method, there are LONG periods of rest after the grazing while the herd gets moved around to other areas. i get the sense that there is room for the wild creatures here. would the wolves, coyotes, and mountain lions mind having more herbivores around? sounds like dinner to me. what if their numbers INCREASE due to increased habitat abundance? i have seen the words "livestock industry" and "industrial-size cattle operations" mentioned in these talks but i think that is NOT what allen is talking about. these industries may talk about HIM though, to make themselves sound like the saviors of the earth while all they really care about is continuing their bad business as usual. who knows?

How attached are you to your deeply held beliefs? If solutions to global problems challenge your worldview, how do you react?
i would definitely say be careful about using the term "industrial" with regard to what he is talking about here. the industrial model puts large numbers of animals on land and DOESN'T rotate them at all, and in fact this is quite bad practice and creates all manner of problems for the environment and human/animal health. the ROTATIONAL GRAZING is a key concept here. CHEERS!
