What are the advantages and disadvantages to having robots, and are there any ethical issues with robots?
If by robots you mean machinery of any sort that aids with process of performing task. One may first have to see the objective of engineering. To make a something that can perform a task to make humans life easier. Innovation is astonishing, because it gives humans more time to focus of things that are important for them instead of performing task that are repetitive for a machine to do. However as we become more advance; humans also become lazy. In a world were humans do less and robots do more, you can see a trend that even thought robots are meant to make our life easier it my accustom us to become obsolete.

Do you believe the human brain will continue to increase its capabilities?
Not necessarily increase but change it function. I think that the human capabilities have adapted for relying on computers. For example instead of your brain memorizing 20 phone numbers, your brain keep the knowledge of how to access it in a cell phone, and does not keep that data. If we continue this trend it the brain will adapt to using it functions for more hands on and analytical task, and let the computer store data. Does a catastrophic event need to occur, for people to demand cleaner energy?
Scott, I saw the talk as well in the TEDlive stream. Thank you for referring to my question. You are right about me not remembering the seventies I was born in the 90's. Just like I am sure you do not remember the 1800's when people did not want industrialization, however we can use Allan's Ted talk as an example of previous mistakes. when he was young (probably the 60s - 80s I do not recall the decade) Allan mentioned that he order to kill over 40,000 elephants to solve the problem in Africa. After many years of research he found out that he was wrong and came up with a solution to correct what he had done. In other words he did not say I do not know the solution lets just ignored deforestation we still have a lot of good land. He came up with a solution over years of research. And as I pointed out before, I am from the 90's maybe just because previous generations could not get of the addiction of oil, it does not mean that my generation wants the same. After all we are allowed to shape our future how we wanted right? For this reason I study to become an influence in my generation.

Does a catastrophic event need to occur, for people to demand cleaner energy?
ok this is completely deviated out of the initial question. Maybe someone mentioned this and I did not read it, but I have not stated to go back and get rid of technology, in the contrary I was looking into new technology to replace the one that is no doing us good for our future. Yes fertilizers come form petroleum, and we need to produce a certain amount for the amount of people. And petroleum has numerous uses ranging from medicines to plastics. But in chemistry there are many material that can have similar uses, and we can work towards new improved ways. For example biofuel is a potential solution that can replace non-renuable is the sense of utility, and there many others. Now for the second part, let's assume that global warming has nothing to do with humans interaction and it is just a cycle. That is not the only threat that non-renuable brings. Now if I have misunderstood some information please be my guest and share your thoughts.

Drinking Water Out of a Billboard
When I first read your tittle I thought it was absurd. That change once I opened it. Thank you for sharing this information. I find this a great idea that could be improved. As ZX style state about the oil. It is a little disappointing how new technology being invented is still attached to 20th century energy. I would be good if they would start integrating new ways to operated for example the video stated that is in a desert area! I wonder what can we use? (MAYBE TRY SOLAR?) Nonetheless it is good to see engineers do their job and help humanity.

Do right and wrong exist?
This question can lead to really deep conversations of different spectrums in philosophy, God, Free-will, etcetera. However I do not think no being a God would make this argument less interesting. And in the other hand it depends on what God you believe in and your personal believes, the bible its not a PG book. I talk about many immoral context, and other holly books as well. With or without God in the equation I would assume that we would have to give a definition of what is considered "right". Remember that words are created by man to be able to express ideas.

Should employers not hire you or fire you when they discover your bad credit history?
I agree with ZX style, credit history is obviously for money not being paid. As an employee so are performing a service and getting paid for it. Maybe an issue would be as a risk management agent, or other jobs that require to handle money and investing it. (this would be a reason why I would think it would be negative towards a job) A bad credit report may show that the individual may not be organized and cannot handle responsibility for getting themselves in debts that they can't afford, however that is not the case with everyone. Therefore I would think that there would be better ways of qualifying an future employee.
