My platform involves education reform. Specifically, I write on ways to transform education to meet the new economy, one that no longer requires factory workers to punch in, but rather students who can think conceptually and connect digitally.
I'd love to hear from you, so please write to me at markwguay@gmail.com and answer this question:
What was effective in your education and how could it have been better to enhance the skills your current work demands?
Bridging the gap between the skills used in the real world and those taught in school.
What if a student in New York parters with two students in India, one in the UK, and one in Chile - all connected by a cheap tablet and cloud-servicing software? I envision a world where students link together on a global level to collaborate on school projects. Better yet, let's have these projects have direct ties to bettering the world around us. Who said schoolwork is only for school? Put a cheap tablet in the hands of all students worldwide and the next generation will benefit more than humans ever have.
