More About Me

I'm passionate about

Food, community, gardens, positive futures, creativity, innovation, hope.

An idea worth spreading

Everyone loves a homegrown tomato!

We have abundance and security at our finger tips....we just need to think a little bit differently about where we live, how we eat. Instead of buying an expensive gym membership and therapy - spend a few seasons growing your own food.

Talk to me about

Deep change through pleasure, networking, play, fun, taste!

People don't know that I'm good at

Connecting people and ideas!

My TED Story

I came across TED a long time ago...and it's one of the places I come to recharge!

Apr 7 2013: Interesting you think what he's involved in is "charity".....that says a lot about your mindset and not much about what's being done on the ground.

Apr 7 2013: He IS slick....but that's his job...he's a rock star. Beyond that...He's doing awesome things... but it's really hard to put the native swag aside when you've been the front man in a band forever. I can forgive him that.
  • A reply on Talk: Faith Jegede: What I’ve learned from my autistic brothers

Nov 8 2012: Not to minimize...but ALL parents grow up when they give up their imagined child for the real person before them...sadly there are parents who never grow up. (Not speaking about anyone here...)

Oct 14 2012: I think we need to judge the level of good communication about science going on in this culture by the level of scientific literacy or at least well versed participation in national discourse on issues involving science....and it is at a critically low ebb. All scientists who cannot communicate well and engage with a lay audience, need to learn to. Given the Dunning-Kruger effect....there's always room for reassessment, critique and improvement.
Think of it as a user interface problem...

Oct 5 2012: I don't this this criticism is only applicable to Islam.

"Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion."

Oct 5 2012: The bible is full of God justifying slaughter...I think these books are old and generally useless.

We are better and can be better than any of these Gods suggest...I believe they are stories created my men who were not very knowledgable, afraid of thunder and animals - who had not begun to understand the world.

I choose to leave them back in the Bronze age.

Oct 2 2012: It is wonderful to see it move forward with all it's complexity Amgad. It still gives me chills to think of those days in Tahrir....it was never going to be an easy path...there is still so much beauty in it. Please don't lose the faith in yourselves to bring forth the world you want to live in.
