A comment on Conversation: What is the one thing that we all look to find in life?

Apr 29 2013: I'd say happiness but it is a by product of something greater that is like encoded in our bodies and minds. It's the desire to love with all of our abilities and the desire to receive love with all of our abilities.

A comment on Conversation: Can money really buy happiness?

Apr 28 2013: This question is debated since a very long time. Happiness in itself is an internal feeling. It's not material. Therefore, money can't buy it. But there are some conditions leading to that internal feeling. In fact, the fundamental needs should be satisfied. Studies have shown that, to that level, money can play a significant role in happiness. But when you have your fundamental needs satisfied, its role become less obvious. What determine the level of happiness, to that level, is society, family and more spiritual things.
  • A reply on Conversation: Can donor funding really fix African challenges, or should we empower African communities to address their own challenges?

Feb 23 2013: Excellent thought. I endorse it.
  • A comment on Conversation: Can Money Buy Happiness?

Feb 23 2013: Money is important to have access to various things considered to be basic needs. When you have theses things and they are secured, more money will not add to happiness level. On the contrary, it can deteriorate it. I think that we should consider the Aristotle's concept of the golden mean i-e the right amount of everything. That right amount of money can vary from people to people because no one is perfectly like any other. And people's need vary. Accumulating money for it's own sake will not make anyone happier but using it to satisfy one's basic and superior needs is a good path to happiness.
  • A comment on Conversation: What are the challenges that gifted and creative individuals face at present?

Feb 23 2013: I should mention that everyone has a gifted mind and are creative. Except in some cases of neurological disorders. Everyone who has a well developed brain and neural system is therefore creative. We all have that potential. Now, it's up to us to develop that potential. Some environments are more favorable to the development of creative potential. In some countries, people can't satisfy their basic needs. Therefore, they don't focus on their creative sides. They strive everyday to find food, shelter and security. In these cases, their energy is spent on satisfying basic needs. When you don't practice something, it will not become habitual. Therefore, it will not be a part of your character.
  • A reply on Conversation: What inspires you about your favorite city?

Feb 5 2013: Every small thing in Paris has a great history behind it.
Paris is not the only city like that. But it is the one that impressed me the most.
  • A comment on Conversation: What do you want to understand?

Feb 5 2013: Since three years, I'm questioning myself about God and the essence of life. As I advance in my learning, I discover that it's not a very easy task to understand all that. There's too much diversity and at this point it's nearly impossible to make a synthesis.
These days, what is challenging me is to understand Buddhism. What does it teach about life, the human mind, our emotions, our way towards happiness and any other thing. It's a really vast philosophy (if I can say that) and I can't predict all that I'll discover as I learn it.

A comment on Conversation: What inspires you about your favorite city?

Feb 5 2013: I like Chalon sur Saone, in Southern France. The city is calm and very friendly with many terrace restaurants, a beautiful cathedral and a very nice river. The people here are welcoming and they're always willing to say something about their place (if you ask them) . And in the streets, you can see signs which tell you something about the history of the city. It's also a modern place with great stores and almost everything you can find in an american metropolitan city.
