Leonardo Leidens Posted 5 days ago Manu Prakash: A 50-cent microscope that folds like origami In my opinion, this will be a powerful tool in the future. First, it is an economic tool that can be distributed in regions with the problems shown on the video. Therefore, it will help to prevent, diagnose and treat several diseases. Second, this can become a tool for schools. Because of the low cost, for example, several students could have their own microscope. So, they could be more interested in science and try to do their own discoveries. Specially in the poor countries, most of the schools can not have a well projected lab, so these microscopes can make the difference for those schools. It is a wonderful project and a brilliant idea.
