A reply on Talk: Richard Dawkins: Militant atheism

Aug 6 2009: Tolerance to ignorance and dogma? I don't think there is need for that.

Jul 30 2009: The social construction of "race" is fairly new term and is that a "social contruction". The term "race" is not even a subject of study in biology and physical anthropology. They think of it as unethical to use the term, particularly, because there is more genetic variation among individuals from one "racial" group than between "races". It would be interesting to check out those studies to see how the focus on "race" meaning genes which would make it polemical , or if they fucus on ethnicity focussing on environment and culture. No matter what we humans are extremally complex, plus with are not 100% predictable. It would be great to understand what makes us more prompt to act as criminals, weather it comes form genetics, environment, the moon or any convination. LOL
    Kimd regards and thank you!

Jul 29 2009: It is a fallacy to compare this three. I have read the "theory" of design and creationism. I read "The Origen of the Species". I would also like to recomend to you a TEDtalk. Richard Dawkins on "millitant ateism." I understan you poing that psychoanalysi is not a science, just like medicine is not. I hope I didn't misunderstand your point, but psychcoanalylis should be thought as what it is in therapy, and how it has been proven to work in fields like forensics, publicity, and so on. philosophy is not a science either, but we need it in our schools. Creationism (or ID) is for religion and religion needs to stay away from formal education and politics.

Jul 29 2009: Psychoanalysis(or psychology) has been mostly used in publicity, the media, design; however, when it comes to therapy,it is hard to capitalized in a corporate scale with it. It is a big price that we have paid for such a extreme form of capitalism. The U.S. is an extremally individualistic society, they want to find the gene for anything, so that people don't turn towards institution, government, the system.... Not to mention the financial repercussions of penitentiaries in the U.S., they made a business out of it. Let's find out how rotten your genes are so we can put the blem on you for getting sick, becoming a criminal, or just not as smart. Very sad!
NOTE: We are all capable of killing if put through the right, training, pain, experiences, etc.

Jul 29 2009: I completely agree. I think it has a lot to do with how much power the pharmaceutical industry has in the U.S., psychoanalysis is not my favorite approach, but I most admit that it has contributed a lot to how we understand human behavior and It probably saved my life! I learned in my criminal psychology class(from a psychoanalysis prospective) than sexual perpetrators want resistance and how it would freak them out if victims acted turn-on (or made fun of a flasher's penis). I have had both experiences. Once I was attacked by a men with a knife and I asked to go to my apartment, and he freaked out and ran away. My second experience was in Ireland, a flasher tried to impress me with his penis, you should have seen his face when I made fun of his penis. Poor guy I probably traumatized him for life. My teacher who was a psychoanalyst told us how therapy works to treat people like these, but nothing works better than approaching the wrong victim.
