At what point was your epiphany that you were suffering from depression? How did you know it was depression?
With me it could all be traced back to a childhood, teenage years and agood amount of adulthood filled with abuse of Everykind. I sit daily and contemplate if things would just be better or easier if I was gone. The Only thing that keeps me going on a daily basis is the thought that, just maybe, things will be better tomorrow. Is this depression, I don't know, but this is how I live my daily life. You ask if there was an "epiphany" that came upon the realization of depression. For me there was not, just a stronger and stronger feeling of... unworthyness.. On the outside everyone I know see's me as a funny, positive person they can share their troubles with. On the inside when alone I am screaming in my head for something I don't know how to describe! Is the next day better? Sometimes yes and sometimes far worse, but life still goes on with me so far.As a note, I find it interesting that there are not more comments on your question. Maybe the stigma is to powerful to bring others out and try to explain what they to go through on a daily basis. The thing that keeps them from saying , Today I die... I hope this gives you some insight. R.S...

Holly Morris: Why stay in Chernobyl? Because it's home.
Christopher, I have recently started to email a persom living in the Ukraine and find them to be one of the nicest person I have ever incounterd. The work ethic this person has can not be riveled by anyone I have ever meet let alone matched. I enjoy our conversations on what is truely going on in the U.S as opposed to what the media portreys. Due to this I have started to do some research on the area have have become a bit enamored with the country and it's people. I have even given great thought of visiting the country as I learn more. Any other insight you can provide as an American living there would be greatly appreciated. If you are willing, please leave me an email on the Ted site sharing more of your story living there. Thank You. Robert. S...

Angela Belcher: Using nature to grow batteries
I'm sure they would use current testing procedueres. My worry are the unforseen dangerous potentials that are not included due to them being unknown! I do realize that sometimes Science has to push the envelope in discovery, but it's not like they are working in a Biocontainment 5 Lab. From what I saw in the video did not appear to show the type of containment I would like to see when dealing with the unknown. Since this a relativly new application of Gene/DNA manipulation there must be unknowns. Now I don't think that an extreme level of containment is needed, but I do feel that a higher level of contaiment is needed from what I saw in the video. Thanks for the reply.. R.S...

Thomas Insel: Toward a new understanding of mental illness
Thanks for the link as I have always had some selfworth issues of my own, that at times seem overwelming, (especially recently). I also suffer from PTSD and Anxiety disorder but these do not cause my feelings of no selfworth. Though to date I have never tried it the thought has crossed my mind many many times..The thing that always saves me is the thought that things will be better tomorow or at least soon. Thanks...
