Research is vital in the process of finding a cure. Unfortunately, the fast approaching fiscal cliif is aggressively threatening to cut BILLIONS of dollars in allocations towards research. A new way is MANDATORY for the progression of researchers to work in their labs developing new treatments/drugs/devices.   Dec 27 2012: Great informative talk! Thank you for sharing. Reductionist thinking is definately not optimal! Please take a look at CureLauncher.com where there is an innovative approach to funding for cancer research. Crowdfunding! With the upcoming fiscal cliff threatening to cut billions in funding for research something had to be done and CureLauncher has done it. Right now the focus is on breast cancer with 500 clinical trials around the US translated into understandable English for all to comprehend and participate if qualified! The plan is to expand into other cancers and other diseases in the near future! Please leave a comment to give your take on the idea of crowdfunding for medical research! Thank you!
