Dec 13 2012: Agreed. While there may be a deity or more than one god, it is impossible to prove it, and doing so can prove detrimental. For those of you who have read The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, remember how one can disprove the existence of God, by proving it with the Babel fish? God, if he exists, depends on faith, and if faith is not needed to accept him, he does not exist. Therefore, God cannot be proved nor disproved.
Dec 13 2012: While some technology is a greed for a ridiculously lazy life, I believe that most technology, at this point, is a need. It may not have been a need once to use technology, but now that said technology is all around us, disconnecting ourselves seems to be laughably implausible to me. The cell phone and television are fixtures in our life now. Before "everyone" started using technology, it was possible to be an engaged, respectable member of society without engaging in the technology, but now all have Facebook and Twitter accounts. I am not suggesting, of course, that all technology is this way; some are necessary such as electricity and water transport. In sum, this is what I believe about technology.
