Apr 13 2013: Hi Steven,I guess my idea is that the search for God is discredited as non-scientific and science is said to be non spiritual because of the reasons you point out.But many great saints and sages and indeed the inspirers of the great religions themselves articulate an experience of something Divine. A knowledge born of some experience not an idea or belief. Known through the instrument of human consiousness alone. This is often reason enough for one convinced by such a One to seek this experience for themselves .So maybe one might say that science is an experience possible for the many while Divinity is reserved for the individual. And adversly could this mean any ultimate and well advanced beyond current scientific achievement will leave the discover unable to aticulate it or demonstrate it? Only -rendered like the saint, capable at best of inspiring other scientists to see what he saw.I see so much sameness in both. And the members of each love to asert that their club is most right, yet the greatest of each are often similar and not in conflict. Einstien himself apparently claimed near his death that given his time again he would persue spiritual truth? The ego does get in the way of both arts.
Apr 13 2013: If you want to be determined to maintain intellectual separation between the different names given to the same search for knowing the Truth then you are of course free to do that. But that may ultimately become obstructive to the understanding required for a knowing experience culminating in a unity with everything. All types of people though motivated choosing various isms and ways are non the less on the same search. Happiness. Name it what they will.
Apr 13 2013: That was a well plotted historic tour of the topic. I thought it may have been impurely motivated to ultimately express the common frustration towards the "Intelligent Designers" that would no doubtably influence the information for a far higher percentage of the remainders than the scientifically illiterate. The truth is some where in between I think. Science is right in that the evidence is clearly conclusive that dinosaurs and man did not exist together and periodic Major Events have shaped us, But science fails in 2 areas. 1."If cant be proven it is not yet true". If a the great postulative scientist did not have "Faith" in his observation inspired ideas then embark on a "Search" to prove it then no scientific discovery would ever have been made. But the truth none the less was there before we understood or discovered it. ie. Religious attitudes like Faith and Search are Fundermental in good Science. And secondly-"impure"(Spirtualy inadvanced-unvirtious) interpretation of facts is always inadvertantly capable of distorting truth ie: Evolution really seamingly appears to be motivated by consiousness not consiousness moulded by evolution. Intent in Consiousness is not the product of Forms.or random mutation or survival. And the question in consiousness that has evolved in forms is more like Who Am I not How do I survive. This question when applied to analysis of evidence seems is far more productive ? And then also permits the embrasing of a "A Creator" theory, And that Creator is within each Consciousness...Maybe. And since the source in pure consiousness in "The Beginning" is the same, then ."One God" theory is possible. And one more point, then since consiousness came from a "Single God" The similarity in this same yet individual evolution of knowing the 'Self" then results in this symetrical uniform existence and design in forms. But in truth ,Science and Religion are one and the same when truely intellegent ,evolved and purely motivated
Nov 26 2012: Hi Arkady, I personally do believe that we should and can truly feel VERY grateful and that in fact the reaction at the end of our search will be spontaneous overwehlming gratitude. As to Whom? As a believer in the existence of an Absolute....a common tread that permeates us all and everything...that propels our journey of developing consciousness from stone to man...to ultimately realize ourselves as the Absolute .(if God is Absolute, Then what else can we be.) In this journey which God asks Himself the question Who Am I, with the eventual answer I AM GOD.This is only possible in the human form which has fully evolved consciousness (See God Speaks by Meher Baba). The ultimate gratitude is deservingly given to that One (the Friend,Rasool,Christ,Saviour,The Master) who in His compassion helps all humanity and directly assists in the life of the ripe disciple. He will suffer to relieve our burden and unbinds consiousness without damaging it then at the alloted time and by His Grace Awakens the aspirant in Union with God. I believe this in ever increasing certainty as I experience miracle after miracle in my life with my hand in the Masters. Not miracles of the supernatural type, but miracles in inspiration, and selfless kindness that causes the greatest miracle , me becoming less selfish and alivened to surenderance to Him.This against the natural habit of the ego from its development of consciousness during evolution over the eons. Very Grateful To Meher Baba. http://www.meherbabainformation.org/messages/the_call/call.asp
