About Me

I'm a fourth year visual art student at Emily Carr University of Art and Design. Originally born in Korea, I'm conscious of the space in which I physically and metaphysically inhabit in. Korea, a country divdied into two different ideological sectors-- the Communist North and the Democratic South-- has triggered my personal interest in the idea of 'space'. The border between the two lands (the 38th parallel) is the place where things get translated into different means. This, I think is the crucial idea for my personal art practice. How does space transform from one place to another? How does it relate to our everyday activity? How do we as social inhabitants define ourselves in the space we call home? I wish I could come up with some interesting ideas through discussions presented at TED.
