Oct 30 2012: Common sence would say no, but since common sence isn't common anymore I'm left wondering weather you mean harmful of hurtful, physicaly or emotionaly and to dig deeper to ones self or others.
Everyone has their own set of morals the assumption that everyone is born knowing the differance between right and wrong is just absurd to say the least. The question you asked can not be answered in any simple matter really, but rather the real question should be "Are our growing amount of laws leading people to abandon humanity in serach of loopholes to profit from the pain and sufferin (either physicaly or emotionally) of thoes we deem to be of no consequence?"
Oct 30 2012: The system was put in place over 200 years ago when communications took weeks in some cases. so they made the number of votes each state get proportionate to avoid majority rule and sent the electors to DC to choose the president on their states behalf.
Oct 30 2012: this is a funny video and I think would be a much better system http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Y3jE3B8HsE&list=PLqs5ohhass_QZtSkX06DmWOaEaadwmw_D&index=26&feature=plcp
fill in the blank, there may be more from one nationality to the next but at the end of the day they all are the same. no nationality is exempt from producing a terrorist.
Oct 30 2012: Pulling people together under one set of rules is a great idea in theory, but who's rules? until the government of the world can truly relate to the people that they govern this can never happen without force.
We see this now around the world with what is thought to be national or global issues that the people have but they are really just political issues. Anyone can have an oppinion on anything but at the end of the day I believe that 99% of the worlds people just want to provied for the family, enjoy their lives, and protect their family from the 1% that want to provide for their family at the expence of others hard work.
The united states constitution was a great ground work for this kind of society, but it has been molested into something that people find hard to understand and common sence has been removed for consideration. Common sence it what I feel needs to return to people along with tolerance.
If and of that needs clearing up then you (anyone reading this) do not have common sence and are the reason this world can not evolve into a better place for us all.
