Dec 28 2012: If you are talking close to one hundred years from now I think it depends upon the technology. But if the trends continue, the average person will have many dangerous tools at their use. Most would use these to improve their and other people's lives, but a few wouldn't. A government that keeps corporations honest is important. Besides that it should let people do what they want, besides maybe one or two transparent agencies. Those agencies would be involved in protecting the general public from dangerous computer viruses or weaponized viruses.
Dec 28 2012: A federal law that requires tougher back ground checks is needed. All fully automatic weapons should be banned. NO one needs to own a gun like that. Limiting guns down to ten shots our less would not allow people to shoot so many people. Four semi-automatic weapons people need to provide a reason to the ATF that they need them and they need to go through a psychological examination.
Everyone should go through a minimum of six months of training to own a firearm. Also it being a felony to not lock your guns up in a safe or locked secure cabinet would help. Every time you sell a weapon to new person it should have to be registered. Police officers in schools aren't a bad idea either, even if their just breaking up fights. Finally people should not be able to buy ammo online.
The most important thing is to fix the mental illness stigma, though
Oct 21 2012: Well it could have to do with religion. Personally I would not want to live more than like 100-150 years. I feel like, even if you had friends around, I would just get sick of all the violence.
