    Sep 23 2012: It was on the radio, but I found this on the BBC site.. Related but not the exact same
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-14289114

    I also found the actual published research;
    http://arxiv.org/abs/1109.4897

    That's pretty awesome, though, I never continued studied in Physics past basics, but it's all very intriguing to me and if I had the Phys inclination, I'm sure I'd be ,capital 'o', Obsessed.

    Sep 23 2012: I have the very same problem here. I would say something like "Have you heard the piece on BBC about molecules traveling faster than light? That means time travel will be possible in the future" and they'd look at me with flat faces then say something like "O...Kay" and go back to mundane conversation about who did what and when. It's frustrating sometimes but I realized, recently, that I've started to accept the mundane and join in. I suppose that's why I often converse with my father and find myself on TED. The truth is, though, it's 'nerdy' to have stimulating conversations and those who do are often misfits.
  • A comment on Conversation: What motivates you?

    Sep 23 2012: Improving motivates me, if I feel as if I'm getting somewhere I tend to double time and work harder. If I don't, I try my best not to quit but it's still difficult. In a more general sense, suffering, and the opposite, also motivates me.. I'm not yet through with college, but knowing that I might be able to help more later gets me going.
  • A comment on Conversation: What are the best and worst laws and practices of your region/state/country

    Sep 23 2012: I live in Jamaica, have for all my life, and one thing I love is the sense of community... I'm not sure about laws, but if a Jamaican is walking down the road and doesn't say "Good morning" as they pass, it is considered very rude. We also always have somewhere to go because everyone down here looks out for one another.

    As far as worst laws, Jamaica is highly homophobic, it is illegal to practice homosexuality down here, though it is increasing. All the time, homosexuals are stoned and beaten, sometimes killed, because most of us are raised with the mind set that different is awful (I get a lot of talk simply because I'm an atheist).
