Through my work in public relations, I have gained knowledge and experience in media relations, including understanding various principles and practices. I also developed the ability to build and maintain relationships with members of the media. Furthermore, I have created, executed, and reported on social media campaigns that have resulted in positive brand awareness through Facebook and Twitter. During the social media campaigns, I also monitored and managed brand reputation, in addition to responding and interacting with the target audiences appropriately. My skills and expertise include:

As Public Relations Coordinator, I am implementing a Public Relations Strategy at FluidWare (formerly Chide.it) while working closely with their two products, FluidSurveys.com and MyReviewRoom.com. Working at a Startup has presented me with the opportunity to experience and contribute to the overall growth of the organization and create a lasting impact. The tasks I have been assigned are:
Writing press releases, pitches and stories regarding company activity, as well as various other events related to the company.
Contacting reporters, producers, editors and other members of the media in a professional and timely manner to distribute press releases and stories.
Successfully created a complete Press Kit.
Through my efforts, FluidWare has gained notable press coverage in the Financial Times, StartupNorth, StartupWeekendBlog, Metro Ottawa and the Ottawa Business Journal.
Founder and Community Manager GGI Ottawa, Girl Gone International, March 2013 – Present
Girl Gone International originally started in Europe. I have established the first ever chapter in North America. GGI are a vibrant, fast growing global community of women about 18-40 living, working, travelling or studying abroad. The purpose of the Ottawa chapter is to bring all of these women together at various events designed to create community and forge friendships.

Social Media Manager, Therien Jiu Jitsu, August 2012 – Present
Implemented a complete social media strategy through working with the existing accounts and the staff at Therien in order to meet their immediate and long-term needs.
Designed and implemented Twitter strategy with the goal of engaging target audience. Resulting in increased activity on the account as well as doubled number of followers in 6 months.
Created and currently maintaining the Therien Martial Arts Facebook page. Posting relevant content on a consistent basis with the aim of increasing likes and mentions.
Currently using a Google+ account to take advantage of the visibility that Google + offers. The account is used to offer relent business information as well as visual updates.
Public Relations Consultant, inmedia Public Relations, November 2012 & January 2013
As a PR consultant for InMedia I was responsible for communicating with various French media outlets, in Quebec, for a client launching a service. I was involved with media relations for the beta-testing, as well as the official launch. My work involved:
Translating pitches, interviews and other documents from English to French or vice versa, ensuring a high quality of language.
Conducting a number of phone interviews and follow up calls to gather information from French speaking clients for the beta launch.
Performing multiple tasks the day of the launch, including calling and e-mailing reporters and ensuring that they had all of the appropriate and desired information.
Generated coverage in all major media in Quebec, La Presse, Les Affaires, CBC Radio Canada.
