A comment on Conversation: a GLOBAL platform connecting people with ideas and those eager to support it and act

Aug 26 2012: the internet it too controlled by consumerist corporations...look at Facebook. once a great platform, now, just a tool for people to sell goods and promote what they "like" not what they believe. i think we need a new, open source, idea driven social network for good. then the internet can meet its true potential. TED is one great step in direction and a true symbol of the internet's unrealized potential.

Aug 26 2012: i agree, but one person can't do it alone. truly great leaders are the ones who also understand hwo to delegate, to see greatness in others, and listen to their communities. having just returned from South Africa, I can say that Mandela was a great leader because he recognized those attributes and his own humility. that is why we are so inspired by him.
