About Me

I graduated from the University of Warsaw with a Master's Degree in Engilsh Philology. I am interested in popular culture, online communities, science-fiction and role-playing games. I teach English to business clients and do translations (computer games and assorted other topics :)). My curiousity and passion for global integration and change made me join the TED.com Open Translation Project in 2009 where I became a Polish Language Coordinator, and recently a Storyteller for TEDxYouth@Krakow. In my free time I volunteer at sports events, do freestyle rollerskating, read about astronomy and play boardgames and the guitar. My favourite internet places are Reddit, the Naked Scientist, NaNoWriMo, and Coursera. I currently live in Mokotow in Warsaw and at weekends I cycle to Las Kabacki to read a book or play table-tennis in Powsin.

An idea worth spreading

  • A reply on Conversation: Why evolution could never solve aging?

Nov 18 2011: It works this way if there are no or few factors which introduce evolutionary pressure. Why do turtles live so long? They have hardly any enemies so the longer their lifespan the more offspring they can produce - selection for longevity.
