Aug 12 2012: Thanks for having the courage to speak out on this subject, Joel. My daughter is a lesbian and came out in high school so I can attest to the savagery of youth - especially when you are different. Thankfully enough she was also lucky enough to find a community of girls going through the same experience at the same time. That community, along with (at least I hope she feels this way) the support of her brother and I, got her through those traumatic years. And...life did get much, much better for her.
