IB, Oxford, UEA, then WORK as the system suggests. My thesis on subtitling of Monty Python into Polish and Hebrew with the focus on the silliness of the whole thing testifies to how seriously I take the whole institutionalised world of academia and the future 'adult life'... In the meantime I have worked in catering, a bit as a freeelance translator, did an internship as the career path suggested, worked for Brandbank as a translator/data entry executive/interpreter. Now I am getting to know lawyers while trying not to loose myself in the wide world of earning money. Plan for later? Make my way into the translation world!
Israel/Palestine situation, foreign languages, crafts, films, travelling, salsa dancing, hedgehogs, cooking, neuroscience, human behaviour, psychology...
Don't be afraid to have ideas and explore them. I have also recently re-invented a halloumi curry dish - I think it is really worth spreading (not only on a pile of steaming rice) - if anyone is interested I am happy to share!
Languages, salsa, good books, drums, atheism, astronomy, neurobiology, and whatever you know/are educated in/passionate about - I love to learn new things!
Is long and moving, features explosions, plane crashes and crocodiles as well as Meryl Streep as mother of triplets, it evolves from a thriller through a comedy to a family drama, and ends with a song and dance routine straight from a bollywood film.... I have learned about the existence of TED around 2 (or even 3!) years ago and the first talk I have seen was by a very eloquent 12-year old girl. From then on I have learned countless things from TED talks and expanded my knowledge on what I was interested in. In a way I see TED as a bollywood film - it can evoke in you all the possible emotions - from curiosity to laughter, from inspiration to tears. I very often find hope, that there are people with passion, people who despite difficulties strive to achieve their goals, no matter how strange, or hard they are. And hope that anything can be appreciated, neurobiology equally with music, and physics with swimming.
