I am researcher and Director of Master's program in Sustainability Management, School of Engineering at Universidad del Desarrollo. My research interests lie in the relationships between engineering, technology and society as their impact on sustainability and sustainable development, particularly regarding to inequality and alleviation of poverty. I am studying and promoting innovation in sustainable technologies with ability to deliver simple and practical solutions to current and future environmental problems like water scarcity and food, waste management, energy and environmental pollution. My main interest lies in studying and promoting innovation in sustainable technologies with ability to deliver simple and practical solutions to current and future environmental problems like water scarcity and food, waste management, energy and environmental pollution. My main goal is to develop frameworks of analysis for understanding the causes and effects of current events to contribute to national sustainable development and low carbon through better understanding and integration of local systems - characterized by its natural resources, climate, infrastructure needs engineering, social and political - for the service of decision making techniques to the public policy level, linking science, technology, society and education.
My TED Wish.
Inspiring people to think in sustainability and achieve a sustainable development
Relationships between social and natural sciences that support us as human beings
Convert developing countries and their educational and research centers in real networks working to achieve sustainable development. This Sustainable development must be through the creation of globals public policies rely on Environmental Leadership and Public Policies Based on Evidence, Science and Technology with focus on education. My idea is build globals consortia for open innovation (networking)for fighting global environmental impact and reach a huge social impact with cultural changes among countries by cooperation. A Example: Environmental Sustainability Educational Centers (ESECs): Greening the Cities. Our main objective is to create Environmental Sustainability Educational Centers (ESECs) for support and complement to student of local school (between 6-18 yrs), teachers, parents focused on environmental education, sustainability, production and consumption sustainable as well as topics on security food. ESECs will allow develop green projects to ccommunitarian level.
