Mar 4 2013: If you are looking for gifted and creative individuals to contribute to your research, talk to a stranger, ask a family member, or look in the mirror. We all are gifted in different ways. Everyone's experience is truly unique, and we all face challenges.
Feb 22 2013: Absolutely. No doubt about it. Money cannot, however, buy positivity, conscientiousness, love, goodness, righteousness, and kindness. These things also can produce happiness. Share some.
Feb 22 2013: Credit history (or lack thereof) directly correlates with successful time, financial, and resource management experience. There are exceptions, but in general, this is true.
If you accept the above, then clearly it makes sense to take credit history into consideration when hiring.
Obviously, not everyone will accept the above as true (although it is proven).
It is the employer who is investing time, money and resources in other persons. The employer is taking ALL of the risk... The employer owes nothing to the applicant, but owes a great deal to employees... Prior to making the investment (making an applicant an employee) the Employer ought to be able to make these judgments with all available resources.
Jan 9 2013: The right thing to do is usually the good thing to do, but you've only listed 2 'options' (good or right) when actually there are potentially dozens. What's impossible to overcome is the fact that "right" is subjective, so this is really a false dilemma. There are too many variables in the real world to paint a black-and-white picture of 'right and wrong' or 'good and bad'. It just doesn't work that way.
Jan 8 2013: I don't think "communication... with these peoples... without [disrupting] their lives" is possible. They are geographically and culturally secluded (as they have been for thousands of years), and interaction with them would intrinsically involve a disruption in their ways of life. That being said, I'd love to learn more about these cultures, and I'd love for them to learn more about our culture(s) as well.
