  • A reply on Talk: Timothy Bartik: The economic case for preschool

May 15 2013: What you didn't measure was the psychological effect. This may have just been a psychological effect which had nothing to do whatsoever with education. I lied to my daughter and told her she was the sharpest tool in the shed, and she is now working on her PHD. Shouldn't have happened according to IQ numbers.

May 15 2013: Explain why other countries have a better education and Kindergarten is not even required.Kids don't need to be trained to be 8-5 and stop for two breaks in order to become smarter.

May 15 2013: Children should not be thought of as economic investments ! That is one more year the government shovels crap down their throats , teaches them to memorize and regurgitate. It takes away the spontaneous learning a child does when taking a walk in the park and seeing things through their own eyes ! My kids went to public school in Kindergarten and first grade. I pulled them out and home schooled them. They had to apply everything they learned to what was going on in the world and research the history of what was going on in the world. I guarantee my kids know more about how Government works , the history of all the wars ( both the BS in textbooks and the actual facts) than any public schooled child. Not only that but my kids are capable of how to discern fact from the entertainment called news. My kids are not trained to be little factory workers , nor are taught to be good little consumers that I find the schools teaching.

May 15 2013: Pretty impressive statement about how man and humanity can disappear in the eyes of corporation bombardment and Government !

A reply on Talk: Bill Gates: Teachers need real feedback

May 8 2013: I would never allow my kids in a classroom with cameras ! One of the problems with U.S. schools including colleges is that the Government won't hardly fund them anymore so corporations are coming in with money and writing their own version of the truth,. Teachers have no say in what or how anything is taught. '

My kids were home schooled and applied everything they learned rather than just memorization of half truths. I am proud to say that my kids are very capable of critical thinking and thoroughly investigate anything before believing it. I can't imagine why anyone would want to become a teacher because like you said the pay is crap., Schools would rather have a winning sports team then a smart student.
  • A comment on Talk: David Bismark: E-voting without fraud

Feb 20 2013: Sadly as long as there is money involved , there will be voter fraud. I can only speak for the United States but voter fraud comes in many forms. The first one would be the CIA overthrowing governments in other countries even when the government was democratically elected by the people, then you have gerrymandering, Corporate superpacs giving false information, lying politicians ( I would consider that fraud), our children are lied to in the textbooks about voter fraud, for instance with the hanging chads the textbooks do not mention the controversy surrounding the incident, only that the Florida machines malfunctioned. That leaves our children no way to make their own conclusions about the existence of voter fraud.
