About Me

I'm twenty. I don't have much to talk about except that I study mathematics. This word probably explains everything about me. From the greek, this word mean "art of learning". Learning and knowledge, talk about idea, listen to stories and solve problems is what i like to do. Simple but difficult ;P

  • A comment on Conversation: Your Idea: A Weapon that creates Peace

Dec 11 2012: In this moment, while i'm writing, i can only think one thing as weapon of peace and it's probably obvious: it's fear.
Now this means a lot of thing. I distinguish two possibilities: fear of someone and afraid of something.
Either bring peace in a certain area only if they are an enemy / danger in this area and , in my opinion, only for a short period of time because react is our nature.

(when i was child, I thought that playing cards could be a good way to resolve conflicts. I was a child but now i don't think this idea so stupid, naive, probably.)

However it's an interesting problem (i studied war of 900th from the economic point of view as last exam of high school) and I suggest you to read 1984 (probably you've already done) and watch

A comment on Conversation: Can we train our intuition to be more effective at solving problems?

Dec 9 2012: I study mathematics and in my case, train intuition means a lot of exercise. I personally think it's necessary to find new ways to solve different problems, but it generally can't solve them. This depends on the problem.
  • A comment on Conversation: What would your ideal government system look like?

Dec 9 2012: First of all i think that the government system depends strongly on the "nature" of a population. Europeans and Americans have adapted to democratic systems. I think that there should be more than two parties, add more stringent prerequisites for politicians and encourage, start building an international school system.
However there will always be some flaws and we need tools to fix (that should be the constitution). We need new tools to work together with the political class, to solve practical problems.

Aug 6 2012: I can only say: Oh my god, thanks!
  • A reply on Conversation: Could a "guardian angel" be the next technological revolution?

Aug 1 2012: Yeah, the basic idea practically is separate the "brain" of a computer from "bodies" of various devices. The example of I, Robot is very good. Another example is to imagine being able to see the same object through different windows.

This idea could be applied to connect smartphones, tablet, computer but also new car, television or anything you need.

A comment on Conversation: Strange questions that humans have not yet found an answer for!

Aug 1 2012: I asked myself sometimes if there could be another kind of progress. I mean a not-technological progress.
  • A comment on Conversation: If the universe is expanding - what is it expanding into?

Jul 31 2012: I like to think that it isn't the universe but that we become smaller and smaller. Practically, it's the same thing)
If you consider the idea of multiverse (there's a beautiful talk about it) we could consider this expansion as a "theft" of space (?).
  • A reply on Conversation: How are global youth changing our future? Are they Generation We or Me?

Jul 31 2012: Well, the main problems of italian young people are unemployment and the current political crisis.
I think both are too complicated to explain with a few lines.
I'll answer you about the question you wrote:

1-This is very interesting. I probably would ask what he thinks about the word "happiness" (principally how we can get it and if everyone can)
2-The inconsistency of our behavior and abuse of technology. I can stay calm using ..."meditation" (it's not something easy to explain)
3-their life style (way of life?) and how they perceive the world
4-Sometimes I would be more extroverted
    5-Meet (or make) friends
6-A long time ago :P I now prefer to be twenty-one
    7- Ehm...I don't know.
I try to see more media possible for a personal opinion
8- Between 70 and 80. I had a good education, with good teachers but I was lucky. The Italian school can improve
9-I'd like to solve problems of any kind (I study mathematics, so probably...)
10-I'll the political class, the school system and some changes about the economy and local administration
11-" Learn about the world "

A comment on Conversation: How to build our future without destroying the Earth ?

Jul 30 2012: I think we must change our "economic" philosophy.
We have to pass from the philosophy of consumer to the philosophy of balance and recovery.

A comment on Conversation: How are global youth changing our future? Are they Generation We or Me?

Jul 30 2012: I think this generation lives right now a period of transition and change.
It's hard to talk about youth in general because there are too many cultural differences. However, the role of the internet becomes increasingly important in our lives. Today we have a huge supply of information, new possibilities of communication and all these things stimulate a new global culture, ideas and other ways to communicate.
All these good things and the current problems will force this generation to be mainly a "WE"-generation.

[PS: i'm not so familiar with english, so sorry me if I made some mistakes in grammar =P ]
