Jun 18 2012: How are you going to feel when the union calls for a strike and your patients have no one? My Dad was in unions for most of his life. His pension was "lost". He had to leave his family for a year when the union struck... To keep bread on the table. Most public school teachers are union members. They have to be to get the job. BUT, when they need to get rid of a teacher who teaches badly, the union contracts add major expense to the process and the lousy teachers remain in place.
They had their place. In my view, they have become corrupt and serve few well.
