About louis

An idea worth spreading

Love - not hate - at all times. All men and women are equal. We're all in this together. Love nurtures; hatred diminishes both the hated and the hater.

I'm passionate about

Philosophy, political science, serious music, history, future changes in ideas, human behavior, personal and social relationships, social institutions, ideas and the impact of technology.

Talk to me about

Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Thelonious Monk, Gershwin, String Theory. I'm a very silly guy who lives in a beautiful abstract world of great scientific and musical ideas.

People don't know I'm good at

Improvising tunes on the spur of the moment at the piano. I have a running symphony in my head all day and sometimes in my dreams.

John Legend: "True Colors"
I grew up with a child with downs syndrome, the son of neighbors across the street from our house. I took it in stride treating him as just another kid, even though he might have his problems. I realize now that my parents brought me up with the right attitude toward all minorities, basing my attitude toward them on their individual attributes rather than their color, nationality, religion or whatever group they were in. I also remember that some kids were cruel, generally imitating the attitudes of their parents. Bless you!

John Legend: "True Colors"
As an amateur pianist/composer, this performance inspires me. Would that the day would soon arrive that we all - or at least most of us - see each others true colors as Jesus and other great leaders have taught. To see each other for what we really are individually, instead of prejudging each other on the basis of simplistic categories that we can better understand, is a worthy goal. We are not stereotypes; we are individual people!
