  • A reply on Conversation: Is ADD as prevalent as we think it is?

    Jul 9 2012: Hi Erica,

I have to begin by applauding your perseverance and hard work. I hope you understand that I do in fact know ADHD is a real thing and have sympathy for those who struggle with it everyday. I'm curious about your difficulties with test taking and if you've been prescribed medication (adderall, Vyvance, etc) for those reasons, akin to most adolescents these days?

    Regards

A reply on Conversation: How many "bad" teachers does it take to negate a good teacher.

Jun 18 2012: It makes sense to implement a teacher satisfaction survey for students in High School, akin to those given in universities. Of course, there is the counter-argument that students will give bad marks to teachers who are "strict" and are in fact the best teachers, but the benefits of having 'teacher-student relationship' consciousness could outway the costs.

Jun 12 2012: I like to look up at the sky/stars, imagine all the universes out there, and remember that in the great scheme of things, my problems aren’t as cataclysmic as I may think.

A comment on Conversation: Do you believe that evolution is ultimately over for humans?

Jun 11 2012: Through acts of charity (Special Education programs) and the development of new drugs (allergy pills/antibiotics), I think it's fair to say that we've nearly eliminated Darwinian evolution from our species.

While I thought this was a bad thing, I came to the realization that many of the people that have been saved by these evolution-barriers have contributed in huge ways to our society. I think that we’re at a point where social/cultural evolution is more important than the evolution of our physical composition.
