Jun 26 2012: Perhaps if more people/politicians would invest in real science, as opposed to tithing or other monetary support of religions, then the "actually" important disciplines would not be lacking in funding.
Jun 26 2012: It would behoove all, especially the youth of the world, to take his words to heart. E.O. Wilson is surely a champion of science in his engaging and thoughtful message. Hopefully his words will be inspiration to all budding scientists the world over. Bravo.
Jun 21 2012: Christopher, for those who have never heard of Tesla, due to the rapacious efforts of ivory tower corporates, I think the ideas put forth in this presention, would have found that "wow" factor. The ability to capture someone's interest can, and often does have cascading effects. I say well done to Marco Tempest
Jun 20 2012: " This not rocket science; this is, not-knowing the meaning of kindness; biblical wisdom. Professor Dow has intuited himself out of a system of logic which is systemically evil."
It seems to me that your take on biblical wisdom is decidedly lacking in its argument. You can argue semantics, but numbers do not lie. http://holysmoke.org/icr-pri.htm
Jun 20 2012: I find your rhetoric quite disturbing, as you seem to think you have the right, no matter the consequences, of doing as you please in your lab. You sir, have the makings of a fine megalomanic.
Jun 7 2012: Speaking strictly from the platform of an interested layperson, albeit with a somewhat humbling educational background, I find it disheartening to see the field of evolution muddied with such vagaries as put forth in the speaker's premises. In a country where perhaps as many as 1/2 do not even believe in the sound evidence of evolution, (USA), I feel that such speculation simply does more harm than good. Evolution, as some have pointed out, works on a timescale that Mr. Enriquez, at best blatantly ignores, or worse, misrepresents.
