The EPA is considering historic new standards for air pollution, but billionaires like the Koch brothers are spending big money on D.C. lobbyists to block these reforms.
These new standards, supported by President Obama, would place limits on industrial carbon pollution from power plants. But the Koch brothers and their billionaire buddies are trying to block these vital new public health safeguards in order to keep dumping unlimited amounts of industrial carbon pollution into our air.
I'm all infavor of jobs, but when the currency of a job is the health of children, i draw the line... yet we have a whole party dedicated to spending ur kids health to make more, and more and more money... that to me is acceptable since its your kid and one kid can't matter that much... thank God for Mitt who will balance the budget with kids instead of money!
Jul 20 2012: a wise man once said, Democracy is great until u talk to the average voter... in other words, no one person, group, country or planet can decide and define a base line for a moral, ethical, cultural or social foundation. U ask if we can't start now with all the amazing advances in human thought and creation. No. With every change in science, u establish a new problem, and a new prospective base line. Ethics retard the experiment, our experiences and our minds. We accomplish greater things in the negative then in the positive. War advances medicine, competition advance technology. money creates competition, and the mind searches the soul for answers that the body can't handle... We have been at war w/the ethics of medicine for centuries. Do clone, why yes for everything we do is at the hands of God, right? Well, maybe, or maybe not, who r u to say, or me, or someone from Senegal. Who among us is so perfect to say what is moral for the rest of us. If your ethics destroy a civilization, how moral is that? Again the answer to your question must be in the negative... Only a God could do it, and he is just watching... he thought it was your problem and he is not interfering, not now, not next week, never!
Jul 20 2012: This question assumes there is a political solution to your question. With ever form of government there appears to be a solution that works. Yet over the past 200 years, we have seen many forms of government fall to a greater need of the planet. Yes our democracy has been beneficial to great number of people. In fact, is has been beneficial to many countries, but so has England, France and Germany. All different. If u r able to exercise strength over many years, and people in the greater number r furthered in their life styles and comforts, again our government seems to be best for man kind. But we are so new to the game. Monarchies have existed for 1000s of years and helped millions of people over centuries. Is that the stand u pursue. The answer is not as easy as the question. Call back in 5000 Ad and I know more...
Jul 20 2012: I doubt life span is a good indicator of evolution. Yes we are bigger faster, and stronger, and yes we do live longer. But we travel at such a slower rate compared to our mind and technology. Basically technology is an indicator of our mind, while there doesn't seem to be a indicator of our progress as in evolution. Our basic test of endurance and strength has been very slow in hind sight. The Olympic athletes don't shatter records any faster then they did 25 years ago. the progress is in seconds and 10th of seconds. The past is basically the same as in the early 1900. Where as the brain has transformed medicine, to farming to industrialization. Just a humble thought to ponder...
Jul 20 2012: If anything technology has created the mind quickening evolution. It has demonstrated to our mind the innovation, imagination and passing of ideas has no limit. As space travel has illuminated out ability to reach the stars, technology has open corridors in the mind not traveled even by Einstein. One we were shacked by the blinders we artificially put on the brain. Now we see in a radius of 360 degrees in every plane. I doubt the rest of our body will catch up, for we still move at the speed of Maine. Someday maybe our bodies will move forward, as medicine unlocks the nano of our core. But till that day, maybe next week the mind will sores while the body drags...
